Republicans order the US Navy to stop buying biofuels

While the Secretary of the Navy would like to see the Navy’s fleet run on cleaner, greener energy, Republicans on Capitol Hill are trying to put through measures that would prevent the Navy from using anything but traditional fossil fuels. BEcause killing the domestic biofuel industry so we can give buy more oil from the Saudis sounds like a swell idea.

US Navy sets new railgun speed record, launching a bullet at over mach 7

The US Navy recently beat its own record by launching a projectile out of an electromagnetic railgun at mach 7.5. The ultimate goal is to put railguns on ships that will be able to launch a projectile 200 miles at 8000 feet per second without the use of explosives.
