After playing several muscle-bound badasses, including the man who broke Batman, Tom Hardy’s next major role will be a bit of a departure. In an upcoming biopic about Elton John, the only bones Tom Hardy will be crushing will be those on a piano. Hardy is one of Hollywood’s most versatile actors, and just because he’s played mostly fighters, I don’t at all doubt his ability to also pull off a convincing Elton John, especially if there’s a scene that requires Elton John to kick the shit out of Batman.
In the planned remake of Escape from New York, there are two big name actors that are both supposedly vying for the role of Snake Pliskin, originally played by Kurt Russell. Both Tom Hardy and Jason Statham are good choices, but who would be the best Snake? I vote for Tom Hardy.
It’s been made official… Tom Hardy will be starring in the movie adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell. Hardy will be playing Sam Fisher, a black ops agent of the Third Echelon.
There’s no director yet or release date.
Sometimes on screen, Tom Hardy can look like a normal guy, but if you’ve seen ‘Bronson’ or ‘Warrior’ or The Dark Knight Rises, you know that he can transform into a total physical badass when he wants to. And he can actually box. So in the name of charity, Hardy has agreed to fight professional boxer David Haye.
Another rumor to add to the Dark Knight Rises rumor pile, and one that makes a lot of sense is that Tom Hardy will be playing super psycho crime boss Hugo Strange.
With production starting for Chris Nolan’s third Batman movie, it’s time for the real casting news to start. And the first name to be cast is Tom Hardy, who is reunited with Nolan after playing Eames, the man of many faces in Inception. There’s no word on who Hardy might be playing, but many, including comic book writer Mark Millar have speculated that Hardy might play Killer Croc.
