Set images from Thor 2 show off the Dark Elves and their leader Malekith
Some people got onto the London set of Thor 2 and got some great shots of the Dark Elves that will be making Thor’s life hell in Thor: The Dark World. And the different looking Elf appears to be Dark Elf leader Malekith, played by Chris Eccleston, though the person in the pic appears to be a double.

Could Dr. Strange be making a cameo in Thor 2?
We already know that Marvel is going to be doing a Dr. Strange movie, but now there are rumors that as a tie-in to that future film, Strange could be making a cameo in Thor 2. Maybe.

Christopher Eccleston cast as the main villain in Thor 2
So apparently the Dark Elf rumors for Thor 2 were true… but considering the subtitle is “The Dark World”, it’s not a huge surprise. What is a surprise, in a good way, is that ninth Doctor Christopher Eccleston has been cast as Malekith the Accursed, ruler of the Dark Elves.

Marvel unveils official names, release dates for its next five movies
At San Diego Comic Con, Marvel unveiled the official names (As in Thor 2 is now Thor: The Dark World) for its next five films, as well as release dates for three of them and a bonus piece of concept art for Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Enchantress could be the villain in Thor 2, The Rock could be taking the lead in Lobo
In comic book movie news, it looks like that there’s a good possibility that the main villain in Thor 2 could be The Enchantress, though no one has been cast for the role yet. And things are still going along, albeit quite slowly, with the Lobo movie, but apparently Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been talking about how he’s in talks for the lead role.

Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor tapped to direct Thor 2
Thor 2 made headlines back in September when it tapped Patty Jenkins to direct, making her the first female filmmaker ever chosen for a big Marvel Studios picture and then earlier this month, Jenkins was removed from the film. Now it seems the project’s back on track, as news breaks that Game of Thrones‘ Alan Taylor has been offered the job.

Marvel’s post-Avengers slate consists of Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy and The Inhumans
Leading up to the Avengers has been all about huge movies with huge budgets for huge classic Marvel heroes. But the post-Avengers world looks to more about sequels and mining some lesser known comics with good stories that will hopefully make some pretty good movies.
