Check out this ‘Oz: The Great and Powerful’ featurette
As a big fan of the entire Oz series of books, I’m really looking forward to this movie, since it seems to bring in a lot more of the Oz universe into play than the 1930s Wizard of Oz movie.

Check out the first official trailer for ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’
When small-time magician Oscar Diggs (James Franco) pulls one flimflam too many, he finds himself hurled into the fantastical Land of Oz where he must somehow transform himself into the great and powerful Wizard—and just maybe into a better man as well.
Well, the teaser poster for ‘Oz, the Great and Powerful’ looks nice
In the upcoming prequel to the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz, James Franco stars as Oscar Diggs, “a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics” who finds himself in the Land of Oz, where he thinks he’s hit the jackpot. That is, until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who aren’t convinced he’s the great wizard everyone’s been expecting.

Concept art and character designs for the upcoming animated “Dorothy of Oz”

Hollywood’s going to be Oz crazy in 2012— there’s Sam Raimi, already working on a Wizard of Oz prequel, and due in the same year is the animated film Dorothy of Oz, a sequel to the original film based on the Roger S. Baum (son of L. Frank Baum) novel of the same name. The movie is being produced by Summertime Entertainment and stars the voices of Lea Michele (Glee) as Dorothy, Kelsey Grammar as the Tin Man, Dan Aykroyd as the Scarecrow, James Belushi as the Lion as well as the voices of Patrick Stewart, Martin Short, Oliver Platt and Hugh Dancy.
