Well shazam, actor Jim Nabors marries his longtime boyfriend

Actor Jim Nabors, best known as Gomer Pyle from The Andy Griffith Show and Gomer Pyle USMC, married his long-term boyfriend of 38 years, Stan Cadawaller in Washington. Had no idea Gomer was gay, but glad he can finally make it legal.

Andy Griffith has died at 86

Actor Andy Griffith, best known for his roles on The Andy Griffith Show and Matlock, died this morning at his home in Dare County, North Carolina. He was 86 years old.

It’s fairly common in TV for several different shows to use the same props, backdrops and sets, especially way before the days when you could just drop a green screen behind an actor and make whatever set you wanted inside a computer. One of the more interesting examples from the 60s of two shows using the same sets were Star Trek and The Andy Griffith Show, two shows that in many ways couldn’t be more dissimilar.
