While I personally really liked The Amazing Spider-Man, and would even call it my favorite Spider-Man movie ever, it couldn’t hold a candle to The Dark Knight Rises or The Avengers in terms of sheer scale. Kevin Smith, normally much more of a DC guy, recently explained why out of the this year’s two summer comic book movie juggernauts, he likes The Avengers more.
Joss Whedon had already mentioned he wanted to put The Wasp in The Avengers, but there wasn’t really room. We do know that in Avengers 2, there will be Ant Man, who is getting his own movie next summer, and where there’s Ant Man, there’s got to be The Wasp. So where does she come in? Probably in Iron Man 3.
The summer of 2015 looks like it will be a hell of a time for big, big superhero films. Marvel had already announced that’s when Avengers 2 would be coming out, and now DC has said that their Justice League movie would also be coming out in the summer of 2015. Oh shit… now if they could then do a JL vs Avengers movie in 2016, I could die oh so happy.
During the Marvel TV Panel at NY ComicCon, Joss Whedon (via video) announces that Clark Gregg will reprise his role as fan-favorite SHIELD agent Phil Coulson. All this after repeatedly saying that SHIELD wouldn’t have any characters from the movie. You cad.
The first details about Joss Whedon’s SHIELD TV show are starting to emerge, and it look like it won’t have any well-known or established characters other than Maria Hill. Instead, it will be more about the day-to-day hard working men and women of SHIELD, keeping Earth safe.
