The Stradivarius violin has been the hallmark and standard of what a violin should sound like ever since they were first made by the Stradivari family in the 17th century. Modern technology has allowed scientists to measure every angle and variable of the Stradivarius, to analyze its sound, and now it appears that any old cheap violin can sound as mellifluous with a bit of fungus.
