Duracell and Starbucks test wireless charging spots in Boston

Mobile devices and coffee shops go hand in hand, but what if you need a charge? Carry your cord around and then look for that one open outlet behind a couch somewhere? In the near future, you could charge your tablet or phone just by sitting it on a table or counter. Duracell and Starbucks have teamed up to bring this very technology to Boston Starbucks locations, and it could come nationwide at some point.

That’ll show em. I hope this catches on— crazy evangelicals buying Starbucks en masse only to dump it, because a spike is sales is just what will make Starbucks think twice. Just like when those samll southern American towns would buy out ever copy of every Harry Potter book in the city, so they could burn them in protest. Because I know JK Rowling was really hurt when all those book sales bought her a new house.

If you want a little more adult beverage fun with your pick-me-up at Starbucks, the coffee chain announced it will experiment with serving beer and wine, starting with stores in Atlanta and southern California.

The very slight effects of climate change may not immediately be noticeable in your own urban daily lives, but for coffee growers, tiny changes in temperature make a big difference. Coffee is a very picky plant, and only grows well in a few places in the world, and when temperature rises even a tiny amount, or when storms increase by only a tiny amount, it makes a big difference in yield, and now Starbucks is putting out the alarm that the world’s coffee supply could be in serious danger in 10 to 30 years. Man walks into Boston Starbucks, starts throwing cash

On St. Patrick’s Day, some drunk guy walked into a Boston Starbucks and starting throwing $100 in cash, yelling “I’m rich!”, and then left. Surprisingly, not a single person made a mad dash for the money money money who d’ya trust, and a Starbucks employee collected the loot and donated it all to Japanese earthquake relief efforts.

If you need more coffee in your coffee, Starbucks is introducing the 31 oz “trenta” size this spring

For those of you who just don’t think that a venti is big enough, come March, Starbucks will be introducing the 31 ounce “trenta” size in the US, to be soon followed up with the 72 oz “il bucketo” with an optional IV drip.
