Star Wars The Old Republic goes free to play

With its number of subscribers now under a million, EA BioWare announced today that later this year, Star Wars: The Old Republic will be going free to play.

The Daily Mail loses their mind because players in Star Wars: TOR have the option of electrocuting a female slave

People being enslaved periodically is part of the Star Wars universe. Hell, there’s an entire industry around making Slave Leia costumes for unimaginative women who go to nerd cons. But in Star Wars: The Old Republic, if you’re a Sith, you’re given a character named Vette whom you can either treat kindly or torture.

Bug in Star Wars the Old Republic prevents player damage while dancing

Star Wars: TOR has not one, but three different dancing emotes. Apparently, while a player is doing /getdown, he doesn’t take any damage. BioWare is aware of this bug, and there was a rumor that players were getting banned for using this exploit, but it’s not true. However, they won’t yet acknowledge the bug exists, though I imagine a fix is coming tout de suite.

Star Wars: The Old Republic becomes the fastest MMO ever to reach 1 million subscribers

With having only launched just a couple weeks ago, Star Wars: The Old Republic has apparently already passed the 1 million subscribers mark, making it the fastes MMO to do so. But is it because the game is that good or just because there are that many more people attuned and unafraid of jumping into an MMO these days?

IHC Game Previews/Reviews: Star Wars the Old Republic

Star Wars: The Old Republic has not been release yet, but I was lucky enough to granted accesses during the second round of beta testing. The game I experienced isn’t finished, and features will vary before, and after launch, but did give me a good overall impression of the game, it’s direction, and what we can all expect on December 20th.

Anyone have a beta account that they never used or no longer use? I’m trying to break my addiction from WoW. Also Willing to hang out with anyone in game if I’m able to get in. Always looking for people to BS with.

After months and months of dick-teasing, Lucasarts finally announced a release date and pricing for Star Wars: The Old Republic. For North America, you can get your Sith on December 20 and for Europe, you’ll have to wait 2 days to December 22.
