Hey kids, check out the brand new Star Trek: Into Darkness trailer!

I’m not entirely sure how I feel about JJ Abrams Trek… the first one was a damn entertaining movie, as this one looks to be, but at the same time, I feel like by paying to see the movie in theaters, I’m encouraging his shredding of most of the Star Trek universe.

Thanks to William Shatner, Vulcan could soon join our solar system

A while back, we told you how SETI was turning to the public to name Pluto’s two smallest moons, now named P4 and P5. One of the choices is “Vulcan”, and thanks to William Shatner and Star Trek fans, Vulcan has rocketed to the top of the polls. So does that mean we could soon have a Vulcan in our own solar system?

Terminally ill Star Trek fan dies a few days after watching a private screening of the new Star Trek movie

With the power of the internet behind him, a friend of Daniel Craft, a huge Star Trek fan and co-founder of the New York Asian Film Festival managed to make Craft’s dying wish of seeing JJ Abrams’ next Trek film before its release a reality. Craft was quickly dying of liver cancer, and Redditors pulled together to make the dream a reality. Daniel Craft was granted his wish and received a private screening of Star Trek: Into Darkness. Several days later, Craft passed from this mortal coil. Damn it’s dusty in here.
