This morning, a major Chevron oil refinery caught fire, blanketing the San Francisco bay area in thick black smoke. Residents were warned to stay inside if possible, turn off air conditioning and keep the windows rolled up in their cars.

It’s the 21st century. If you’ve got a smartphone, you’ve got an incredible amount of information in your pocket, yet most police departments in the US are sadly lagging in technology. Many departments don’t have department-wide email and any information that goes into the system still has to be filled out on paper forms then hand-delivered to clerks who input the information.

Mythbusters accidentally shoots a cannonball straight through someone’s house. Well there’s your problem right there

While filming a segment of Mythbusters, someone may have accidentally fired a cannonball clean through a private residence. The Alameda Sheriff PIO, JD Nelson said a projectile from an Alameda County firing range, has accidentally missed its intended target. Instead, the object blasted through the wall of a home in Dublin, CA.
