Hey Detroit, here’s your brand new Robocop statue before it’s turned into bronze
The above statue model was made by 3D-scanning a smaller model of Robocop, then enlarging it and manufacturing individual pieces from foam, wax, clay, and steel. It will ultimately be cast by a local Detroit bronze works, and several sites have been proposed, though as of early 2013 the creators hadn’t made a final decision.

Robocop 2013 in his chrome suit (much better than the leaked all black version)

Everyone was shitting over the upcoming Robocop remake in 2013 about how the leaked pictures were of him in an all black suit. I found this picture of him all chromed out and I thought it looks pretty badass. It’s very possible this could be the final look of Robocop and the black suit is just a pre-CGI stand-in.
Set video from Toronto shows off Robocop’s badass new ride
I hope he still has a car, but the sleek black motorcycle is also a good choice for chasing bad guys. I wonder if his robo-dick plugs into the bike to interface or whatever robots call it.

The new Robocop suit looks a bit better here, but it’s still no old Robocop suit by a long shot. Can’t wait to see Michael Keaton do his thing.
Deal of the day: Robocop Blu Ray trilogy for $15.99

All three (yes, there were three) Robocop movies in one Blu Ray set for only $16. SO MUCH ROBOCOP.

First look at the new Robocop suit

With the Robocop remake underway, the world finally gets its first look at the new Robocop suit. And it’s… not quite what anyone was hoping. Sure, it’s supposed to look more like a modern cybersuit/exoskeleton thing as opposed to a Tin Man suit in the original, but it’s kind of boring. The original might not have been the most optimal suit for a robot cop of the future, but it was awesome looking and instantly iconic.
Hugh Laurie drops out of Robocop, Michael Keaton steps in

Actor Hugh Laurie has apparently changed his mind about being in the Robocop remake, so the production has instead turned to Michael Keaton. House is out, Batman is in.

Hugh Laurie cast as a villain in the Robocop remake

Hugh Laurie had said that once he was done with House, he might retire from acting for a bit. Fortunately for you and I, that doesn’t seem to be the case. The British actor recently joined Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson and Joel Kinnaman in the remake of Robocop. Laurie will be playing the evil boss of Omnicorp, the company that invents Robocop.

Gary Oldman joins the cast of the Robocop remake

First, we heard that the original Robocop, Peter Weller, was going to be doing the voice of Batman in DC’s animated film version of The Dark Knight Returns, and now Gary Oldman has joined the cast of the Robocop remake. You got Batman in my Robocop! You got Robocop in my Batman!
Detroit is getting its Robocop statue, it’s just a matter of when

After raising the money and haggling with the city, it looks like Detroit will in fact be getting that giant statue of Robocop, now the only question is when.
And now, here’s Robocop spying a woman in a shower
In this deleted scene from the Robocop 2 workprint, our metal hero gives a bathing police office a spot inspection. This scene is supposed to mournfully symbolize Robocop’s lost humanity, but nonetheless — it is Robocop peeping with impunity.
And the role of Robocop goes to… Joel Kinnaman

After months of speculation and lots of big names being thrown around, it looks like the role of Robocop in the upcoming Robocop remake will be going to Joel Kinnaman, a guy I’ve never heard of, but that’s a good thing. Sometimes seeing the same old leading actors again and again gets boring.
