Righthaven copyright trolls on the verge of being put out of business

Righthaven, the company that made itself wealthy by filing frivolous and baseless lawsuits against websites that either couldn’t defend themselves in court or were seen as possible easy settlement targets (including Fark.com), has had their offices raided by the US Federal Marshall’s office to collect over $63,000 from a court judgment the company failed to pay back in August.

Copyright troll company Righthaven appears to be on life support

In the past several years or so, copyright troll companies have been making out (literally) like bandits by using the US legal system to their advantage, often having no other employees than lawyers and maybe someone with a sweet voice to answer the phone. But in the past year, courts have gotten wise to these business practices and have been throwing out copyright troll cases left and right. One such company, Righthaven, which once was incredibly lucrative now appears to be pretty much done for.
