The Sony PSP 2 is even more impressive in action
The PSP 2, also known as the NGP, may not be entirely a handheld PS3, but it’s still an incredibly impressive and powerful piece of machinery.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is officially the Sony PSP2

Just a day after Sony announced the Sony Xperia Play, also known as the PSP phone, they announced the PSP 2, which they’re officially calling the Playstation NGP, which stands for “Next Generation Portable”.
Check out this first video of the PSP Phone in action
Engadget snagged a video of the upcoming PSP phone, showing off some menus and the game pad and the Playstation store app. Which… is sort of disappointing. It took all this time for Sony to make a PSP phone and it’s only barely a PSP phone. What’s more accurate is that it’s a Sony Ericsson Android phone with a pull-out game pad to run a Playstation games app that could probably be played on other phones. Joy. Way to do the absolute minimum, Sony.
Ghostly photos of a PSP 2 prototype escape into the wild

Yes, these are awful pictures— one would think they were taken with a pinhole camera through a sheet of thick glass from 5 feet away, but they’re pictures nonetheless that have been confirmed by a couple different sources as being actual photographs of a prototype of the Sony PSP 2.
Feast your eyes on the Sony PSP phone

It’s been rumored for a long, long time, and now apparently this device that you’re looking at is Sony’s PSP phone. The phone is rumored to be coming to market very soon and will likely be running Android 3.0 with a custom Sony PSP Marketplace.
Next-gen PSP to have touch controls on the back

Since the iPhone, the world has been going more and more multitouch crazy, adding it to every device possible. But this is the future, and there’s a lot of awesome things about a multitouch interface, but using it to replace a physical controller with buttons and a d-pad is not one of them. To try and marry the two, word is that the next PSP will have multitouch on the back of the device.
Rumor: Sony making a PSP phone with Android

Yeah, we’ve been hearing about a Sony PSP phone since forever, but Engadget now swears that it’s going to be a reality, years after it should have been.
