Minority Report style computer precog can tell if inmates will commit crimes in the future

Everyone seems to love equating things like the iPad’s multi-touch screen to Minority Report, but that’s just because the idea of a future with precogs is just too god damn terrifying… but it’s already here and in use in Philadelphia and Baltimore. The program is being used by parole boards to try and determine an inmate’s parole worthiness by having the computer figure out the chances that he’ll commit crime again.
