IHC Movie Reviews: Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

So, I was very reserved about this movie from the get go. A new director trying to carry on the series after a pretty hefty trilogy. New and unexpected actors, and a supposed simpler, self contained story. Thats enough to make any fan of the franchise a little wary about seeing it. But, was it really that bad?

Michael Bolton joins Lonely Island for “Jack Sparrow”

You may have seen this already, since it’s been igniting the web the last few days, but I finally got around to actually watching it and now I give it to you to watch.

Check out this scene from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

I don’t know how Disney keeps pumping out Pirates movies that seem new and fresh and exciting, but god damn it looks like Blackbeard was the role that Ian McShane was born to play. But I still say he needs fire and smoke in his beard. It’s historically accurate and badass.

Pirates 4 opens May 20th in 2D and 3D. Hey, fun fact. Did you know that Johnny Depp is one of minority whose brain isn’t fooled by 3D technology? He can’t even see the 3Dness.

Check out the brand new trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

I honestly wasn’t all that psyched for the third Pirates movie, and yet it turned out to be pretty good. I wasn’t sure that a fourth movie was needed, but seeing Ian McShane as Blackbeard makes me wish for a fifth and sixth.

More trailers… this time, it’s for LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean

I’ve so far never encountered a LEGO movie-themed video game that wasn’t a hell of a lot of fun. Sure, they’re all basically pretty similar, but still pretty fun. So there’s no reason to think that a LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean game would be nothing but a brick-smashing, swashbuckling good time. Pirates lands on every platform ever invented May 10.

Check out the first teaser trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

It’s a brand new Pirates, a brand new adventure and another year of hearing people doing really cringeworthy Captain Jack Sparrow impersonations. On Stranger Tides hits theaters May 20, 2011.

Johnny Depp pays a surprise visit to a London primary school as Jack Sparrow

After receiving a letter from a 9 year old schoolgirl at Meridian Primary School in London, Johnny Depp decided to pay her a visit in person dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow, since he was in southeast London anyway filming the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

First teaser trailer-ish thing for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Not really teaser trailer as much as it is an announcement by Captain Jack Sparrow of the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Oh great… fantastic… several more years of idiots showing up at cons dressed as Captain Jack, wobbling around and speaking exclusively in that stupid half-drunken accent.
