Saturday morning cartoons: Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in “Sky Scrappers”

Before Walt Disney created Mickey Mouse, his main character was Oswald, a little rabbit to whom Disney lost the rights to for decades.

I don’t know if I’ve explained before, but when I was a kid, I was a huge Disney nut. I really wanted to be a Disney animator (the best animation gig in town at the time) and I learned everything about it, and so I can’t even begin to explain the joy I felt seeing this video explaining the history of Oswald the Rabbit and his return to the Disney family after nearly 100 years of being lost in trademark disputes.

I also love that they’ve made him like Mickey’s older brother, pissed that Mickey was the one that became world famous when it was Oswald who was the star first.
