Royal Dutch Mint to issue gold and silver coins with QR codes. Well that’s stupid.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the Royal Dutch Mint, the Netherlands will be issuing gold and silver coins that will be the first ever printed with QR codes. The codes will link to this website that wil have some sort of surprise once the coins are launched.

The Dutch coins will be available on June 22 and will come in silver (5€ ) and gold (10€) flavors.

Just because you can go to hash bars in Amsterdam doesn’t mean the Dutch are cool with you just growing weed wherever you want. About 30,000 Dutch households will be receiving scratch and sniff cards, so they know what weed smells like so they can sniff out and report illegal cannabis farms.

Excalibur, the world’s tallest rock climbing wall towers 121 feet above the Dutch plains

If you’ve ever been rock climbing on a rock climbing wall at the local Y or wherever, you’re probably looking at 15 feet of fake rock wall, but if you’re in Groningen in the Netherlands, you can try your hand on Excalibur, a 121 foot rock climbing wall with 36 feet of overhang. The massive wall’s unique curves offer climbing for every skill level. I think I might stick near the bottom and catch the falling change.
