Swimming with the fearsome Humboldt squid
They often approach prey quickly with all ten appendages extended forward in a cone-like shape. Upon reaching striking distance, they will open their eight swimming and grasping arms, and extend two long tentacles covered in sharp ‘teeth’, grabbing their prey and pulling it back towards a parrot-like beak, which can easily cause serious lacerations to human flesh. The whole process takes place in seconds.
Super mega pod of dolphins seven miles long spotted off the coast of San Diego

Spotted off the coast of San Diego, this pod of dolphins was one of the largest ever seen by human eyes. It was estimated at around seven miles long and five miles wide. That’s a fuckload of dolphins.
Nature has given us frogs that practice necrophilia, so there’s that.

Biologists have observed that in certain populations of frogs the males outnumber the females. This leads to gang-rape on a massive scale and the poor female normally gets crushed to death in the process. All is not lost, however, as evolution has managed to teach the males how to extract the dead female’s eggs after her expiration, enabling that sweet genetic material to continue the miracle we call ‘life’.
Bird science of the day: How bird wings work
You’ll never look at bird fight the same way ever again. Or maybe you will, I don’t care.

OH SHIT there’s a spider out there that builds bigger spiders

Well, not actual giant spiders, but large spider decoys to deter potential predators and scare the shit out of prey. Making yourself looking bigger and scarier for offense and defense is pretty common in the animal world, but building a sculpture of a larger spider out of pieces of leaves and other debris is a much different and much more complex feat than just puffing out your chest.
Now they’ve got AT-ATs made out of clouds? This is bullshit.

And now, here’s a time lapse video of flesh-eating beetles devouring a parrot
From the Natural History Museum of the UK:
Watch a time-lapse video showing the Museum’s smallest workers, flesh-eating beetles, preparing the skeletons of a great green macaw, tawny owl and mountain peacock-pheasant for our collections. Chemical preparation of skeletons can cause damage to the bones so a special beetle species, Dermestes haemarrhoidalis, is used to strip off the flesh while leaving the bones and collagen untouched.
