Doing the Mega Man cartoon the right way

Back in the late 80s, there was a Mega Man Saturday morning cartoon, and it was total shit. Horribly drawn, horribly written, horribly horrible. This is a remake of the opening, done correctly in 8-bit style, the way it should have been.

I’ve seen a number of Mega Man fan films over the years, and they’ve mostly sucked. This one however, made by Olan Rogers, is actually fairly decent. It’s certainly not perfect, but in a world of crappy Mega Man fan movies, it’s pretty damn good despite its flaws.

Guy beats Mega Man 2 while a live band plays the soundtrack

Bit Brigade put on this mega rad performance at Magfest 9 where they provided the soundtrack to an entire start to finish game of Mega Man 2. The video is 44 minutes long, but it’s a solid 44 minutes of holy shit geekery.

Mega Man X now available for the iPhone and iPod Touch

Capcom recently released Mega Man X for the iPhone and iPod Touch, though unfortunately not for the iPad. And while the game is mostly exactly the same as it was on the SNES, the graphics have been updated to a more modern vector cartoony look instead of keeping the pixelated retro SNES look.
