If you had forgotten, the Lego DC game still looks pretty awesome

Technically, it’s Lego Batman 2, but in reality, it’s more like an all-out DC Lego universe ass-kicking free for all. With over 500 square miles of open territory to explore and a pretty good selection of DC heroes and villains, this could be the Lego game that gets me back into Lego games. And I totally want to kick Lex Luthor in his Lego nubs.

Listen to the Star Wars theme song played on a giant Lego barrel organ

The organ was put together by Serviceplan Campaign for the 3D premiere of Star Wars – Episode I: The Phantom Menace in Germany. Over 20,000 Lego bricks were assembled by Rene Hoffmeister and Axel Al-Rubaie, who wrote, “We took the iconic Star Wars Main Theme, rearranged it and translated it into a matrix – the constrution blueprint for the organ. Then, we took the four most famous Star Wars worlds – Hoth, Tatooine, Endor and the Death Star – and built them on to the barrel, accordingly to the musical composition. When the organ is turned, the bricks touch mechanical sensors – these strike the keys of a built-in keyboard and play the Star Wars Main Theme.”

Help try and make this LEGO exoskeleton set a reality

Made by Peter “Legoloverman” Reid, this LEGO exoskeleton is now up for voting on LEGO’s CUUSOO website. Right now, it’s got just a little over 1100 votes and hopefully it will amass quite a few more. If this becomes a reality, it will be an awesome and unique mini-set to complete anyone’s LEGO collection.

Hopefully, the Shaun of the Dead “Winchester” set could be a reality

LEGO builders Yatkuu and Pixel Fox needed 10,000 supporters on the LEGO CUUSOO site to get the attention of the LEGO bigwigs who might make their dreams of a Shaun of the Dead “Winchester” playset a reality, and over the weekend they reached that goal. Yay!

The Dark Knight Rises trailer, the LEGO edition

If you thought the Dark Knight Rises trailer was exciting with people, just imagine how exciting it is with LEGO minifigs.

“When Gotham is broken into little bitty pieces, you have my permission to die.”

Fucking awesome Lego animation of the day: “The Duel”

Even my sugar fueled Lego minifig and action figure adventures when I was a kid were only about half this awesome.

Geekcraft of the Day: Gorgeous scale model BTTF Delorean time machine

Alex Jones’ (“Orion Pax”) Back to the Future DeLorean looks like an actual diecast model rather than a Lego creation. Despite the spray-painted hull, it’s still a legit build due to the skillful customization job.

3D-printed adapter bricks allow interconnection between ten kids’ construction toys

Say you’ve got a pile of Legos, a pile of K’nex, Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys and some other pieces. They’re not interchangeable and you’re limited to working with just one set or the other set. But if you have a 3D printer, you can print out a universal connector kit so you can mix and match to your heart’s content.

Geekcraft overload: LEGO Game Boy Transformer

It’s easy enough to take one geek thing and mash it up with another geek thing, but when you go as far as Julius Von Brunk and make a Game Boy Transformer out of Legos… I just have no words. My mind is blown and my pants are feeling a little warm all of a sudden.

Astronaut builds a Lego International Space Station while aboard the real International Space Station

International Space Station astronaut Satoshi Furukawa constructed a two-foot long Lego model of the International Space Station inside the actual ISS. The process took about two hours, and the Lego ISS had to be assembled inside a sealed glovebox, so no pieces would get loose and become jammed in the station’s equipment or even become a fire hazard.

LEGO Millenium Falcon assembled in stop motion in rendered 3D

Francisco Prieto spent over 3 years to compose this stop-motion clip, modeling all of the individual LEGO components from the 5,000+ piece model using 3ds max, along with the help of V-Ray. The animation runs just 3 minutes, 35 seconds long, and is well worth the watch.
