Morning music: Heart performing “Stairway to Heaven”
Heart performing “Stairway to Heaven” with Jason Bonham on drums. Great cover, or greatest cover?
Led Zeppelin’s 2007 reunion concert will soon be in a theater near you.
In 2007 Led Zeppelin announced they were reuniting (sans John Bonham of course) for their first headlining concert in 27 years! I, like many rabid fans entered the lottery of 20 million people and set aside plans to travel many miles just to see this performance. My hopes, like many others were soon dashed when I was not one of the only 18,000 given a ticket. Now all those unlucky fans will be given another chance to see this amazing concert.
Badass cover of the day: Immigrant Song by Karen O,Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.
Yeah, Karen O, from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. You can download the free 6 track sampler here or buy the soundtrack digitally OR go completely nuts and pre-order the soundtrack on 6 vinyls. It’s only 300 dollars. Did I mention the soundtrack is 3 hours long?
Afternoon music: Police Academy’s Michael Winslow does Zeppelin
This is Micheal Winslow from Police Academy and other 80’s comedy classics (y’know the human sound effects guy?) performing Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” on a Norwegian talk show. As in the whole thing as in vocals, guitar and drums. Prepare to shit’cho pants.
Morning music: Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” as a harp duet
And played by a pair of angels. How very appropriate.
Mind-blowing mashup of the day: Led Zeppelin and Tron: Legacy
Footage of Tron: Legacy mashed up with seven different Led Zeppelin tracks make for a hell of an experience.
Afternoon music: Led Zeppelin’s Black Dog as performed by damn near everybody
I think it’s fucking awesome and pretty much don’t care what y’all think.
