Currently, the bridge is unofficially named after pioneer Alexander Young. And no, the sign isn’t in honor of Nirvana either. It’s been like that for a while.

According to voice actor Billy West, who did the voice of Stimpy on Ren and Stimpy and currently does several voices on Futurama, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain once showed up at the LA offices of Spumco with a song he had written for the Ren and Stimpy show. Sadly, the song got rejected and there’s no record of it and there’s no record of Kurt’s visit to the studio other than Billy West’s story.
