Judd Apatow is back, with a sort-of-sequel to Knocked Up about turning 40. I’d like to say “Oh wow 40 is so old”, but damn I’ll be 40 before I know it.

Judd Apatow and Paul Reubens are going ahead with the new Pee Wee Herman movie from a brand new script

For several years now, Paul Reubens has said that he’s been sitting on two complete and ready to shoot scripts for two brand new Pee Wee Herman movies— one for kids and one for adults. But now that Judd Apatow is on the new Pee Wee project, him and Reubens have started a new script from scratch.

Reubens said that Apatow ”was more interested in something closer, in the same vein and the same genre, as ‘Big Adventure.’” And it is probably a good idea to go ahead and inject some new life and new ideas into the script at this point, since who knows how stale and picked-over scripts from five years back are.

So… new Pee Wee movie. That’s fucking awesome. And the New York Times reports that Reubens will be in character at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota on August 8th and 9th, leading the world’s biggest group “Tequila” dance, so be there or be square.
