If you’ve never seen this awesome Disney film from 1957, you should watch it now. In 1957, legendary disney animator Ward Kimball created a cartoon vision for Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Barsoom that was innovative and filled with truly bizarre alien creatures.

John Carter, adapted from Edgar Rice Burrough’s John Carter of Mars novels, is in theaters now after a long journey to the big screen. Chronicling the adventures of Civil War soldier John Carter and his adventures on the red planet, this was Disney’s big star studded entry into the spring film arena. With a very dense source material, does this film rise above the mediocrity that’s rampant in theaters, or is it a gigantic Disney flop?

Final John Carter trailer, now with more John Carter
So far, the word out of the pre-screenings is that Disney’s John Carter movie sort of sucks balls, but in the final trailer, they’ve re-edited things a bit to try to show potential audiences that there’s plenty of John Carter being a badass and plenty of action.

Even though I’m not expecting this to be any better than Prince of Persia, I am looking forward to Disney’s John Carter movie. A full trailer will be shown off during some big football game or another happening soon.

Disney’s take on the Burroughs classic pulp novel John Carter of Mars has its second trailer and I don’t know… it looks like it could be pretty fun. I like the creatures and the effects and the scope of the whole thing. Might be worth a bucket of popcorn.

The film adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ sci-fi classic John Carter of Mars hits theaters in March, and Entertainment Weekly has the first look at actor Taylor Kitsch battling a Martian great white ape.

Well it used to be called John Carter of Mars, but now the movie is just called John Carter. The film is based on the classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, and it’s due out March 2012.
John Carter of Mars is inexplicably transported to the mysterious and exotic planet Mars, and becomes embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions and discovers that the survival of the planet and its people rests in his hands.
