Shark Song: Jaws re-cut into a heartwarming Disney film

Oh, that lovable Bruce. Caleb Hepler, the assistant editor at Whitehouse Post, edited the classic 1975 thriller Jaws and turned it into Shark Song, a heartwarming Disney film about “a curious shark with a curious talent”. Caleb won the Grand Prize for Shark Song at Camp Kuleshov, a trailer-editing competition between assistant editors.

Universal Orlando is closing the Jaws ride. Dammit.

Sure the Jaws ride at Universal Studios Orlando is one of the oldest movie themed theme park rides in the country. Sure, Bruce the shark is old and cheesy looking, but damn them for shutting it down. Jaws the Ride is a g.d. Orlando institution.

Jawbones are a very ancient and possibly very unnecessary evolution

Super evolved, but unnecessary.

"But…" I hear you say already, "I like my jaw, and I think it’s pretty necessary. Without a jaw, how would I eat or give head?" But that’s just because you’re used to having a jaw, not because having a jaw is in any way necessary to life. And after studies of the evolution of the jaw, scientists still don’t know why jaws evolved, since they gave almost no advantage over jawless creatures and the jaw itself is pretty much unchanged since the beginning, across all animals that have them.
