Harry Potter fan tries to decode wizard genetics
I don’t know if you’ve ever wondered how people in the Harry Potter series or fantasy in general become wizards, but JK Rowling gave a bit of thought to it, but her answer wasn’t satisfactory for some. So a fan stepped in and came up with an answer as to how wizarding could be passed down through the generations at a slow rate even if it was a dominant gene.

JK Rowling builds her kids a pair of $234k treehouses. Awesoooome.
When you’re the world’s wealthiest author, you can afford to give your kids the kind of treehouses other kids can only dream of. This pair of Hogwarts inspired treehouse things were built for JK Rowling’s kids for the low low price of only about a quarter of a million dollars. Yup, her kids’ treehouses are probably worth more than you as a human being.

Stupid kids: IMDB user goes off on a serious (?) rant about how Lord of the Rings ripped off Harry Potter
Well I mean it totally did. The LOTR movies came out after the Harry Potter books, and there’s wizards and stuff, so duh. There you go. Case closed. And what does Tolkien have to say about this blatant plagiarism? NOTHING.

With the end of the Harry Potter movies, hundreds of pet owls are abandoned
Something that parents should get through their heads is that some things don’t make good household pets, no matter how much your little snowflake cries and cries. Apparently way too many parents thought they could get their Harry Potter loving kids a pet owl and it would make them the coolest parents ever, until they realized that owls don’t like being house pets and they just abandoned the animals.

A trailer for a fan film? Yeah, but this looks pretty damn good for a fan film. At least the cinematography and the effects look pretty top notch.

Tour the enormous Hogwarts Castle model used in the Harry Potter films starting on March 31st
Later this month, if you happen to be in London, you’ll be able to tour the actual gigantic model (yes, a real model, not CGI) used to represent Hogwarts Castle in every Harry Potter movie. The model is houses at Leavesdon Studio and measures 50 feet across, with tiny LED lights in the windows and tiny owls perched at various places.

JK Rowling is writing again, will be writing her first novel for adults
Just because JK Rowling is done with Harry Potter and has made a gazillion dollars from it, it doesn’t mean she’s writing. She announced today that she’s currently working on her first novel for adults, but didn’t offer any details. I just hope it’s an “adult” novel and not just a novel for grown-ups if you catch my drift.
