So now Ghostbusters 3 could be an animated film?

No movie has gone through the rocky Hollywood development process more publicly in the past few years as the third Ghostbusters movie. Every time Billy Murray says no, every time Dan Aykroyd says yes, every time a new screenwriter is brought on, the internet has heard it all. Now it sounds like there could be a possibility it could be an animated film. And no, not like the old ‘Real Ghostbusters’ cartoon’

Fine, at this point, just do whatever. Just stop talking about it and do it.

Dan Aykroyd hires new writers for Ghostbusters 3… again

For the third, maybe fourth, maybe tenth time, Dan Aykroyd has fired the screenwriters working on Ghostbusters 3 to bring on a new team of writers. How many years, how many tries, how many pointless negotiations with Bill Murray will it take for Ghostbusters 3 to happen? A hell of a lot apparently, but god bless Aykroyd for having persistance.

Is William Shatner in Ghostbusters 3 or is he just fucking with us?
At this point, Bill Murray is definitely 110% not in Ghostbusters 3, but have they replaced him with another Bill? Bill Shatner? Or is William Shatner posing in a proton pack on Twitter just for fun and everyone’s getting worked up over nothing?

After several years of Bill Murray subtly trying to make his point that he’s not interested in being in Ghostbusters 3, it looks like it’s absolutely official that he won’t be in the film if it ever happens. At this point, Bill Murray’s open disdain for even the idea of Ghostbusters 3 is legendary. He originally joked he would only be in it if he died in the first scene, so that looked like it might happen and then it didn’t, and every step of the way, Murray has tried to block Ghostbusters 3 from happening.

Every couple months for years like a cycle of nature, there’s been a story that Ghostbusters 3 is happening and then another story that it’s not happening. Despite Bill Murray’s previous negativity that Ghostbusters 3 wouldn’t ever happen, it does look like that it’s moving forward ever so slowly. And it looks like that the story will revolve around Oscar, Dana’s (Sigourney Weaver) baby first seen in Ghostbusters 2… as it turns out, Peter Venkman (Murray) is Oscar’s dad and Oscar wants to be a Ghostbuster.
