So now Ghostbusters 3 could be an animated film?

No movie has gone through the rocky Hollywood development process more publicly in the past few years as the third Ghostbusters movie. Every time Billy Murray says no, every time Dan Aykroyd says yes, every time a new screenwriter is brought on, the internet has heard it all. Now it sounds like there could be a possibility it could be an animated film. And no, not like the old ‘Real Ghostbusters’ cartoon’

Fine, at this point, just do whatever. Just stop talking about it and do it.

Dan Aykroyd hires new writers for Ghostbusters 3… again

For the third, maybe fourth, maybe tenth time, Dan Aykroyd has fired the screenwriters working on Ghostbusters 3 to bring on a new team of writers. How many years, how many tries, how many pointless negotiations with Bill Murray will it take for Ghostbusters 3 to happen? A hell of a lot apparently, but god bless Aykroyd for having persistance.

Bill Murray is definitely out of Ghostbusters 3, project is on hold

After several years of Bill Murray subtly trying to make his point that he’s not interested in being in Ghostbusters 3, it looks like it’s absolutely official that he won’t be in the film if it ever happens. As if sending a shredded copy of the script back to Dan Aykroyd didn’t get the point across…

Bill Murray shredded the Ghostbusters 3 script, mailed it back to Dan Aykroyd

At this point, Bill Murray’s open disdain for even the idea of Ghostbusters 3 is legendary. He originally joked he would only be in it if he died in the first scene, so that looked like it might happen and then it didn’t, and every step of the way, Murray has tried to block Ghostbusters 3 from happening.
