Geekcraft of the Day: Dragon claw bracers are seriously badass, probably not street legal

These custom made Dragon Claw Bracers from Etsier WhiteDragonLeather are so seriously super badass they’re making my pants feel a bit funny. As cool as they are, they probably would get you in trouble if you actually wore them around town. Cops tend to frown upon people wearing blades on their fists.

Meet Kombusto, MIT’s little interactive social dragon robot

Kombusto may be sort of cute or ugly, depending on your perpective, but he’s an interesting experiment in cloud robotics. Instead of just having one robot that learns from being played with, Kombusto learns from everyone that owns one, and as one learns, they all get smarter. Right now, one of these will cost you around $1000 from MIT, but in the near future, these kinds of social cloud based robots will not only be Christmas toys, but computers in your home or in your car.

Geekcraft of the Day: Real firebreathing LEGO dragon

When this LEGO dragon, built by Aaron Amatnieks, isn’t belching flame, one’s reaction would simply be “Oh yeah cool dragon.” But due to some interior piping and care to make sure that the hot part of the flame isn’t too close to the mouth… voila. You’ve got yourself a real firebreathing LEGO dragon. Video below.
