BBC accidentally spoils the ending of season seven of Doctor Who, promises prizes if people STFU

Just posted on official Doctor who Facebook page -

“We understand that a small number of US fans have received in error their DVD edition of Series 7 Part 2 early. We respectfully ask those fans not to divulge information or post content publicly so that fellow fans who have yet to see the episodes do not have their viewing pleasure ruined.

If everyone keeps the secrets safe until next Saturday we will release a special new clip featuring material of the Tenth AND Eleventh Doctor!”

Oops. Please, no spoilers below if you know anything.

David Tennant and Billy Piper confirmed for the Doctor Who 50th anniversary

It’s hard to tell these days who is really in and who is really out for the Doctor Who 50th anniversary blowout, but right now it looks like David Tennant and Billy Piper are on board. Now someone just needs to poke Tom Baker with a sharp stick to get him on board. And all the other living Doctors as well. No reason they should not be on board. And all the dead ones, too. Bring them back as holograms.

Peter Jackson would gladly direct an episode of Doctor Who in exchange for a Dalek

Last year, Matt Smith mentioned that he’d love it if Peter Jackson directed an episode of Doctor Who and Jackson quickly responded that he’d absolutely love to, saying he would even do it for free if they gave him a prop Dalek. Above you can see the two Daleks he already has from different Dalek eras. I’m pretty sure he’s trying to take over the universe with those things.

Doctor Who’s most wanted lost episode comes back to life, then dies again, then comes back to life

Reconstructing some of the early episodes of Doctor Who has been a full-time archaeological expedition for many diehard Who fans. Many of the episodes from the first few seasons were lost completely due to neglect, but in the 1960s, before the VCR, many people in the UK would record audio from their favorite shows to listen to later. And it’s from these old audio tapes that many of the lost Doctor Who episodes have been reconstructed and animated.

But one episode in particular has been elusive, and that’s the episode where the first Doctor, played by William Hartnell, regenerates into the second Doctor, played by Patrick Troughton. The episode has been fully reconstructed and this is just a snippet. The full thing will be released on a DVD compilation later this year.

Doctor Who returns March 30th, and in the third episode of the second half of season seven, we’ll get our first look at the Ice Warriors in decades. They mostly look the same, which is to say they look goofy, but I for one, welcome Doctor Who’s new Ice Warriors enemies.

50th anniversary Doctor Who episode will be in 3D and in theaters

How big is the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who? Fucking huge. So big in fact that it won’t fit in a normal TV screen. The 50th anniversary episode will be broadcast in 3D on television and shown in theaters.
