Bear Grylls fired from Discovery, giving him plenty of free time to drink his own piss

After failing to participate in two contractually obligated side projects for Discovery, the network has decided to end their relationship with faux explorer Bear Grylls, ending the bug eating, pee drinking fest that is the show ‘Man vs Wild’.
Watch the space shuttle Discovery’s final landing
Discovery landed on Earth for the very last time this morning before it will be retired as a museum piece. It’s not quite the end of the shuttle era yet— Endeavor and Atlantis still have a mission apiece this year and then we’re done.
At 11:57 a.m. EST, space shuttle Discovery landed for the final time at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center after 202 orbits around Earth and a journey of 5,304,140 miles on STS-133.
Very beautiful HD footage from shuttle Discovery’s final flight. It will be a sad day when the last shuttle flies. I think it’s a tragedy that the US government would let a program like the shuttle end without a proper replacement. Though the shuttle is expensive and suffers from some design flaws, it is as close as we have gotten to a real orbital spacecraft. All of the other options are just capsules with parachutes.
The Discovery space shuttle launch as seen from a passenger plane
This has been around for a few days, but for some reason I kept thinking that I had posted it. Maybe I’m going senile. In any case, this is the launch of the space shuttle Discovery as seen from a passenger plane near Orlando, Florida. I would have hated to have been the bastard who slept through this or is on the wrong side of the plane. “What did I miss?” “Just the most awesome thing ever.”
