There are lots of drugs with scary as hell effects, but on scopolamine, your free will is stripped away and you’re open to any suggestion such as “Let’s go to your ATM” or “Rob that bank”, all while appearing to everyone else that you’re perfectly sober and rational.

On the trail of “Dragon’s Breath”, the world’s scariest drug, from Colombia
VICE’s Ryan Duffy went to Colombia to check out a strange and powerful drug called Scopolamine, also known as “The Devil’s Breath.” It’s a substance so intense that it renders a person incapable of exercising free will. The first few days in the country were a harrowing montage of freaked-out dealers and unimaginable horror stories about Scopolamine. After meeting only a few people with firsthand experience, the story took a far darker turn than we ever could have imagined.

Dallas teenager, an American citizen, deported to Colombia on accident. Whoopsie.
How does a 14 year old girl from Dallas end up being wrongfully deported to Colombia, a girl that is not South American, is an American citizen and doesn’t know a word of Spanish? Oh, well you know those craaazy immigration officials. It’s sort of a long story.

One of the poorest slums in Colombia gets outdoor escalators. So they’ve got that now.
In one of the poorest slums in the country, in the city of Medellin, Colombia, the government has put up a series of fancy and expensive outdoor escalators so the slum residents don’t have to walk up and down stairs. I guess using that money to actually give them cheap houses that aren’t rotting, falling apart shacks would have been too obvious.
