Wait… the statues on Easter Island have bodies? When did that happen?

Since 1995, archaeologists have been doing excavation of several of the famous giant heads on Easter Island, yet somehow this is the first I’ve heard of the heads having bodies buried underground. Not just plain slabs, but detailed, carved bodies buried deep in the dirt.

Incredibly insane steep downhill bike race in Valparaiso, Chile

“…it happens on the streets of Valparaiso, Chile. The Valparaiso Cerro Abajo Race is a legendary urban bike race and is more extreme than skydiving. The rider must brave jumps, stray dogs, and flights of stairs along the steep downhill path. The first person perspective provided by the excellent helmet cam lets us take in every glorious and frightening detail”

The drugs and the porn were smuggled through the tunnels to the miners, but doctors (yay doctors!) decided that it was dangerous to send them blow up sex dolls, since they could only round up 10 and they feared that the remaining 23 guys would get jealous.

A number of things the Chilean miners have missed out on being underground for 68 days

I mean obviously aside from things like family, friends, sunlight, decent food, starry nights, the sound of rain, sex and sanity, the world’s seen a lot of things in the past 68 days that if you were deep underground in Chile you might have missed out on. Things that we’ve experienced collectively that you just couldn’t imagine how you could have lived life missing. Now that they’re back out on the surface, let’s help them catch up with what’s been going on in the world since August 5th.
