A Behind The Scenes Look at Cartoon Network’s Current & Next Generation of Animation

Netflix is now streaming Adventure Time, Regular Show, Robot Chicken and more

It was announced months ago that Netflix had struck a deal with Cartoon Network to stream some of its most popular shows and now that day is here. You can now stream shows like Adventure Time, Regular Show, Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force and The Boondocks from your PC, tablet or phone. Totally algebraic.

New Powerpuff Girls Re-boot Coming To Cartoon Network Later This Year
Craig McCracken’s Powerpuff Girls remains in the upper echelon of my personal favorite 90’s cartoons of all time. It was eventually rebooted in Japan in 2007 as Powerpuff Girls Z, which was also pretty rad in its own right.
This latest reboot will be directed by Dave Smith with Art Direction by Kevin Dart and will be in CG.
Is it just me, or do the new PPG’s totally look like they need to brush their hair?

Adult Swim and Cartoon Network shows are coming to Netflix streaming. THIS IS ALGEBRAIC!

Netflix scored another big streaming deal recently, bringing in a bunch of seasons of a bunch of shows from Cartoon Network and CN’s Adult Swim block. This includes all seasons of Adventure Time, Johnny Bravo, Ben 10 and Regular Show as well as Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Robot Chicken. Netflix also scored streaming rights for The Boondocks and Children’s Hospital. Guess I’ll wait a little longer to get cable again.

Watch the awesome Plastic Man animated show pilot that wasn’t picked up by Cartoon Network

Back in 2006, the guys from SpongeBob SquarePants — Tom Kenny and Stephen DeStefano — were asked to put together a pilot for DC Comics‘ weirdest Justice League member, Plastic Man, for Cartoon Network. Needless to say, it was not picked up, you can watch it here now. I dunno, I like it and would have liked to have seen more episodes.

Check out a preview of this Sunday’s episode of Superjail… introducing LORD STINGRAY

I admit that I haven’t seen nearly as much of Superjail as I would have liked. Everyone keeps telling me “You NEEED to watch Superjail it’s the funniest shit ever and you’d love it”, and I have seen one or two episodes, and it does look pretty awesome… I just haven’t gotten around to it.

Anyway, here’s a preview clip of this Sunday’s episode, which introduces the evil Lord Stingray to the cast.

Saturday morning cartoons: “Wacky Racers Forever”

This is the unaired pilot for “Wacky Racers Forever”, a brand new and updated version of the Hanna-Barbera Wacky Racers cartoons. I miss Muttley, but the new one isn’t that bad. It’s almost too bad it never got picked up by Cartoon Network.

The first promotional for the upcoming Cartoon Network animated Mad Magazine show

I fucking loved Mad when I was a kid, and I don’t know whether it’s just growing up and new artists coming in, or whether it’s really lost a teensy bit of its edge, but this looks like it could be pretty fun.
