Frank Zappa was very selective about the musicians that accompanied him. He demanded near-perfect live performances from them, and quickly replaced anyone that couldn’t take the stress. As a result, by the late 80s, he had a band that could play his extremely complicated compositions flawlessly. This week’s Weekly Zappa is The Black Page, as broadcast in 1988.
