Microsoft invests hundreds of millions into Barnes and Nobles’ Nook, hoping to integrate e-readers with Windows

Apple has already taken a commanding lead in ebooks, digital magazines and digital textbooks. Google and Amazon have a loose relationship, with each charging forward into the front lines of e-reader technology and now Microsoft has made a huge $600 million investment into B&N’s Nook reader as an investment into incorporating Nook services into Microsoft services.

Barnes and Noble launches the Nook Tablet for $250

Going straight for the Kindle Fire, Barnes and Noble launched the Nook Tablet today, a hefty upgrade to the Nook Color that’s a little more expensive than the Fire, but is also quite a bit more powerful.

Barnes & Noble unveils the Nook color. Is this the end of e-ink?

Barnes and Noble unveiled its new color Nook e-reader yesterday to much fanfare… but if it’s got a color screen, it means that it’s got an LCD screen, which seems to negate the advantages that an e-reader has over a tablet. So the color Nook is a mini tablet just for books?
