While there’s still a strong stigma against those who are openly gay in men’s professional sports, it doesn’t mean professional athletes are neutral on gay marriage and gay rights. Baltimore Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo has spoken out in favor of a Maryland ballot initiative that would legalize gay marriage. Maryland state delegate Emmett C. Burns Jr. then wrote a letter to Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti, urging him to “inhibit such expressions from your employee.” This is Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe’s response to Burns.
Transgendered woman who was savagely beaten in a Baltimore McDonald’s speaks out
Last week, a video surfaced on the internet of a woman getting the shit beaten out of her in a Baltimore McDonald’s and I didn’t post it, because not knowing the backstory, I just thought it was another video of someone getting in a fight in a fast food restaurant like we’ve posted a couple times before and frankly I didn’t want to deal with the inevitable “Lol angry black woman what do u expect” stupidity. But it turns out this story is a little more than just two people getting in a fight at McDonald’s.

Huge drug bust in Baltimore snags the woman who played “Snoop” in The Wire
Felicia Pearson, the actress who played drug assassin Snoop on HBO’s “The Wire,” was one of 60-plus people arrested in and around Baltimore this morning, the result of five-month investigation into a large-scale heroin and marijuana operation.
