The Simpsons did a tribute to animator Hayao Miyazaki and it’s sort of amazing

The longest running animated series pays tribute to perhaps the world’s greatest living animator on the news of his retirement and the result is brilliant.

Gainax announced Wednesday that it will be releasing a set of Evangelion themed parkas. Three of the parkas will have “cat ears” and are based on Evangelion Unit-00, Unit-01, and Unit-02. Each is also reversible, and has an Angel pattern on it. They come in one-size ladies and kids sizes.

The Japanese men who prefer virtual girlfriends

Because real, warm, breathing flesh and blood women tend to say no? 

This is a societal problem not limited to Japan. here in North America families tend to include only two children making a net gain of zero, so if it weren’t for immigration population stagnation would be a reality here. So fine, Japanese men… enjoy your virtual video game and anime girlfriends. Just clean up when you’re done.

Hayao Miyazaki’s Retirement Announced
[AFP] - Japanese animation and manga master Hayao Miyazaki is retiring, the head of his production company said on Sunday at the Venice film festival, where his last work Kaze Tachinu (The Wind Rises) was being shown. "Miyazaki has decided that Kaze Tachinu will be his last film, and he will now retire," said Mr Koji Hoshino, head of Studio Ghibli co-founded by Mr Miyazaki.
The 72-year-old Mr Miyazaki has won hearts and accolades around the world in a career that began in the 1960s. His Body of work includes; Spirited Away, Ponyo, Howl’s Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke & My Neighbor Totoro.
