Samsung Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab, no Android 4 for you

If you’ve got a Samsung Galaxy S or a Samsung Galaxy Tab and you’re wondering when you might get that Android 4 update, the answer is never. Apparently, Samsung has decided that Android 4 would interfere with their own shitty proprietary UI software that’s on the Galaxy S and the Tab, so you get to keep that. Merry Christmas.

Android 4’s facial recognition unlock can be defeated with a photo

One of Android 4’s spiffy new features is the ability to unlock your phone just by looking at it. But as demonstrated in this video, it’s pretty primitive facial recognition that can easily be defeated by just holding a photograph in front of the phone, and not even a good one directly pointed at the phone.
