IHC After Dark: Al-Qaeda’s connection to the Syrian insurgency with CIA support
The US has been kinda-not-so-covertly directly supporting the Syrian insurgency through arms and other weapons via the CIA, but this video alleges that many of these Syrian insurgents are directly linked to or are highly sympathetic of Al-Qaeda’s war on America and the CIA knows it.

NBC reporter Richard Engel and crew freed from kidnapping in Syria
Several days ago, rumors began to spread that NBC reporter Richard Engel (above center), Turkish reporter Aziz Akyavas (above left) and NBC photographer John Kooistra (above right) were being held captive inside Syria. After denying the reports as to not inflate their value to the kidnappers and further complicate the situation, NBC reported last night that the three had been freed and were now safely in Turkey.

Syrian rebels build a tank out of a car chassis, scrap metal and a game controller
When you’re engaged in a really nasty civil war, you often have to try and make do with what you have to get an edge anywhere you can. Not having the might of the Syrian army behind them, a group of Syrian rebels built this tank out of car parts, scrap steel and a game controller.

Syrian government shuts down internet and cell service inside the country, could be a sign of shit about to hit the fan
Things have been rough in Syria for a while now, as the bloody civil war drags on between pro-Assad government forces and rebels trying to overthrow the current Syrian government. In a sign that a messy situation is about to get even messier, the Syrian government has shut down all internet service and most cell service inside the country.

This is the scene just a second before. As you can see, the shell has exploded, but no one has changed position. There hasn’t even been enough time to pass for their brains to react to the fact that they’re in the middle of a deadly explosion.

Followup: There is no “Gay Girl in Damascus”. It was all a hoax from one guy
Last week, we told you the story of an openly lesbian blogger in Damascus, Syria by the name of Amina Araff. For years, she had posted on her blog about government crackdowns and harassments in her home country and then last week, she was “abducted”. But… there was no such blogger. It was all a long and detailed hoax, perpetuated over a number of years by 40 year old Tom McMaster of Georgia. That’s the douchenozzle above on the right.

Openly gay Syrian blogger abducted by pro-government forces
As Syria continues to struggle with political unrest, one of the most recent victims is Amina Arraf, an anti-government openly lesbian blogger who goes by the pen name Amina Abdallah. Arraf has been blogging about the arrest in her country on her blog “A Gay Girl in Damascus”, but a couple days ago was abducted by pro-government forces.

Bizarre video without a lot of context: Baby accidentally shoots his dad
From the YouTube description:
This incident took place recently in Halab, Syria in 2008. The two years old kid was playing with his father’s (33 years old) gun when he accidently fired a bullet hitting the father in the heart and killing him immediately (according to the resources).

Silver Scorpion, the new Syrian superhero created by schoolchildren
Meet Silver Scorpion. The fictional superhero is a Muslim boy “who lost his legs in a landmine accident and later becomes the Silver Scorpion after discovering he has the power to control metal with his mind.”
But why choose something as limited as a wheelchair with a cow-catcher? Why not awesome Voltron robot lion legs or something?
