Just the kid yelling “GAAAAAYLOOOOORD!” cracks me up. Someone’s gotta remix that somehow. Thanks to Delsyd for the link.

Who’s behind the door? It’s Mystery Date [Dept. of Advertising Nonsense]
In this fun board game for girls from the 60s, you just open the door and find out if your mystery date is a stud, a dud or a date rapist. Of course, if there was an equivalent version of this for boys, most people would consider it creepy and misogynistic. But squee, it’s [...]

Movie Scenes to Remember: Penis Size from Casual Sex? [I Heart Movies]
I’ll admit that before I met my wife I had never even heard of the movie Casual Sex? and when she introduced it to me, I didn’t think I’d like it. “Eh, 80s chick flick” I thought to myself. But it’s actually a pretty good movie and it has a great performance by Andrew [...]

Retro board game fun: Ball Buster! [Dept. of Advertising Nonsense]
Ball Buster claims to be as easy as checkers and as exacting as pool. It also has the kind of name that could only have been considered family friendly in the 70s.

Awful TV of the 1980s flashback: Small Wonder [I Heart TV]
Small Wonder was an utterly shit show, but I watched the shit. I guess I thought the girl was cute and the idea of a slightly bitchy android girlfriend was hot. Even if she dressed like a prude, you knew given half a chance, an android would fuck your brains out. At [...]

Retro feathery hotness from Playboy, 1968 (NSFW) [The Daily Hotness]
Don’t you dare be put off because it’s retro. Women were still women in 1968 and some might even argue moreso. In this shoot from 1968, they sure look all woman to me dressed in sexy turn of the century period garb.

From Wuzzles to Michael Jackson action figures, here’s the top 10 toys that would have made you super gay in the 80s. Fortunately I didn’t own any of these. Well except for a Wuzzles toy. And well except for a couple of My Little Ponies. What? I fucking like horses and they made sweet fucking battle mounts for my GI Joes and He-Man figures.

Oodles and oodles of afros [Pic]
A barber’s guide from the 1970s on clipping the perfect afro. I had no idea there were so many types… I always just figured there was round and nappy. Guess that shows I really need to bone up on my afro history.

Awesome print advertising from the 1950s - 1970s [Dept. of Advertising Nonsense]
I’m a bit of a sucker for vintage advertising so I was thrilled to find this Flickr set of print advertising from the 1950s to 1970s. It covers a wide range of products, from clothes to cars to kitchenware to computers, but it gives a good sense of what was in and what was on the cutting edge of advertising over that 20 years.
