Sony drops the price of the base PS3 to $250

Watch out for falling prices! Shortly after Nintendo announced that it’s slashing the price of the 3DS, Sony announced today that it’s cutting the price of the base model PS3 to $250 and the 320GB model will be $299. Unfortunately, that discount is only for North America— the price will drop in Europe and Japan as well, but not by much.

The price drop in Europe is only down to €249, which works out to $359 USD. It’s a similar but not as harsh story in Japan where the system drops to 24,980 Yen or $325 USD.
