Emily the Strange movie has an Emily and now has a writer

Last year, Kick-Ass star Chloe Moretz signed on to play the main role in the film adaptation of the Dark Horse comic and Hot Topic mainstay Emily the Strange, but the film has been treading water until then. Now the movie has a writer, Melisa Wallack, who wrote the upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman.
Emily the Strange was first created in the ’90s, when skateboarder Rob Reger began distributing stickers with her face as promotion for his clothing line Cosmic Debris — which, yes, makes Emily the Strange “the first movie adapted from a sticker,” as Peter put it. However, in the years since then, the brand has expanded to include Emily-branded apparel, books, accessories, and even flagship stores in Hong Kong, Taipei, and Greece. Dark Horse Comics began publishing a title based in the character in 2005; as of 2009, Emily also has her own series of young adult novels published by HarperCollins.
