Microsoft buys Skype for more than $7 billion

For a couple weeks now, it’s been clear that Skype was about to be bought by somebody big, and the main two heavyweights that were rumored to plop money down on the table were Google (because they like buying everything) and Facebook (because people like to spread rumors about Facebook buying everything, when they make very few acquisitions), but it turns out that it’s Microsoft that will be walking away with the Skype prize.
