Even though the last Chevy El Camino rolled off the line in 1987, there’s still a huge El Camino following. So when Joel Ewanick, GM Chief Marketing Officer tweeted yesterday that the company might consider bringing back the iconic truck/car hybrid if 100,000 people wanted it, that became a challenge for El Camino fans.
Since Jalopnik put up this story this morning, there’s already been nearly 2000 people commenting that they would get an El Camino, and they’re hoping for the magical number of 10,000 or more to show to Chevy that there’s still a following.
And hell, the El Camino was a pretty sweet ride, and I’d buy one if I could… as long as it looks cool and not absolutely fucking hideous like the Chevy SSR.
