Lost your luggage? This tiny gadget will help you track it wherever it goes.
Losing your luggage, having it misplaced, having it shipped to a different city… all of it can be a real pain in the ass and sometimes the airline may or may not be able to help. But with this tiny gizmo inside your bags, you’ll be able to see when it gets off the plane and where it is. Hopefully in the same city as you.
Trakdot is a little battery-powered gadget that you can throw in your bag. When you land, just check your phone and you’ll know whether or not your bag landed with you. And if not, at least you’ll know which airport it’s at.
Trakdot has a built-in GSM chip—no GPS here. It can find your bags’ location without using a lot of battery power. (It’s approved by the FAA for travel, by the way.) For $13 a year, you get setup with the company’s service that sends you alerts on SMS or via the Trackdot smartphone app.
Trakdot isn’t available yet, and the Trakdot website isn’t up yet, but when it is, it’ll be right here.
