Nintendo Wii U launching in N. America November 18

Nintendo announced an official launch date and pricing for North America for the Wii U. The brand new console will arrive on November 18 and will be available in two colors and two storage sizes. The Wii U will also come with Nintendo TVii, a built-in service for watching Hulu, Netflix and live television.

Nintendo’s Wii U console will launch November 18 in the United States, with a price of $300 for the white 8GB Basic set and $350 for a black 32GB Deluxe version.

Also announced was Nintendo TVii, which makes the Wii U much more of a media box than the Wii has been. The Wii was late to the game with adding Netflix, and even then, there was a period where Netflix could only be accessed by running the program off a DVD. The Wii U on the other hand, will come with a media package built in, with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Instant Video and Tivo DVR capability.
