So first off, let me acknowledge that I was confused at the end of last year, thinking that the last season of The Office was going to be the last for Steve Carell, but it turns out it’s going to be this season. Unless they’re both the same season with a holiday break in between. What the show is going to look like after he leaves and whether it’s going to be sustainable is going to be anyone’s guess, but Carell will be leaving before the end of the season.
And apparently, when Carell leaves Dunder-Mifflin for good, he’ll be replaced, at least temporarily with Will Farell, who’s signed on for four episodes next season to play a branch manager that will replace Michael Scott for at least one episode.
Oh, and don’t miss tonight’s episode of The Office, which will have Ricky Gervais making an appearance as David Brent, the original office manager from the original The Office in the UK.
