Director Sam Raimi unsubscribes from the World of Warcraft movie
In 2007, it was announced that there would be a World of Warcraft movie… at some point. And then in 2009, the project got wings when director Sam Raimi signed on to the project. But then he said he had a bunch of other stuff to do before the WoW movie, like more Spider-Man movies, the Oz movie etc etc. And then a few days ago, Raimi dropped out of the film, leaving a WoW movie feeling more remote.
“Actually, they don’t have me directing World of Warcraft anymore because when I took the Oz job, they had to move on to another director, they had to start making it.”
Yet Blizzard has never said how the search for a new director was going, and there have been zero rumors about people who might be considered.
